Is a career in architecture probably a good idea right now or should i pursue something else?

There are two doors in every architect's office. One is for people entering the profession; the other, for those leaving it.  The second door is always crowded.

Architecture is one of the most alluring -- and most disappointing -- professions around.  Aside from the superstars, it pays poorly. You will be dealing with egomaniacs in the office and as clients.  With all the skills and knowledge it demands, you can do far better in another profession.

If architecture is something you feel passionate about, then by all means, pursue it. A career takes time, effort and persistence, and if you feel that you have the tools to build up your career then go for it.
