  2. The cat's tail is actually an extension of it's spinal/backbone. A cat's vertebrate are not as tightly connected as human and that is the reason why they are so flexible. Therefore, a cat's tail consist of both bone and cartilage and they act as connective tissues. That is the reason why it is easy to break a cat's tail if you are not careful.
