Is a chicken bad if it smells like sour bread?

My boyfriend and I bought a package of chicken strips and it smells like bread. Is there something else wrong with it, or is it just rotten?

fresh (or safe) chicken should really have no odor at all.  if it smells like sour ANYTHING...don't risk salmonella.

Yes, it's bad.  If you just got it try to return it to the store.

Anytime chicken smells strong or weird it's bad.

If it's a strong, acidic smell then yes, it's probably bad.
