Is a child going to college able to get ss benifits(im disabled) after she is18 yrs old.?

im on ssdi my daughter gets ss check because of my disabilaty not hers some people sat until 23yrs.

  1. It's 18, unless she's still in high school until she's 19.

  2. If your child is disabled, the benefits continue as long as she is disabled. (But  If she is not on SSI they may not considered her disabled after she turns 18.)  

    If not disabled, they stop when she graduates from high school or nineteen years and 2 months - whichever happens first.  

  3. It is best if you call or visit the local Social Security Administration (SSA) office. They will be able to give you the information that you want.

  4. If the child is disabled then she needs to apply for SSI when she turns eighteen and she will continue to recieve it through college unil she is earning more than the limit. I am blind and getting ready to do this myself. Most of my blind friends have done it and are in college recieving SSI.
