  1. the towing weights of fishing boats range from 500 pounds to 20,000 pounds or more.

class 2 hitches come in 2500 and 3500 lb capacity versions.

if the fishing boat you're talkin bout, rigged, loaded and ready to go, plus trailer weighs less than your class 2 hitch capacity, then your hitch is strong enough.

  2. How big is the boat?

If memory serves Class II is up to 2000 lbs.

That should handle most small aluminum boats and motors, but some of those big boys can get pretty heavy especially loaded with gear.

  3. It depends on the fishing  boat and trailer. It can be for the right boat, like a 14 foot row boat on a light trailer.

  4. Yes, a class II will handle your fishing boat!    Catch a big one!  Good Luck!

  5. If there is a class 2 hitch it's must be a Small car so look on the drivers door post and see what it specks say >
