Question:

Is a community college better than a trade school?

I want to enter a nursing program to be an RN. I could go to a community college but I'd have to wait until spring. If I went to a trade school I could start next month and they have free child care. I've heard things about trade schools not being accredited so what would I do if I wanted to get a masters?

  1. Trade schools have the following problems

    1.  Many are not accredited

    2.  They rarely transfer to any other accredited college

    3.  They cost many times what a community college would

    4.  Employers almost universally look down on these types of schools

If you wanted a masters degree and you started with a trade school, it is likely you would have to either get a masters from that same trade school, and if they didnt offer it, youd likely end up doing all or most of the work over again.
