Is a component cable composed of only "3" yellow a/v cables?

i wanna confirm this experiment of mine trying these three yellow cables to use as a component cable. i dunno maybe it would hurt my TV or my cable. please help..

  1. Technically, a component video cable is composed of three seperate cables: red, green, and blue. For the audio, you will need two more cables: red and white.

    However, the color coding does not matter. They're only color coded to make installation easier. Your yellow cables have the same "guts" so they should work just as well.

  2. It wont hurt anything other than the image if you use the wrong RCA cable.

    Here is the rule:

    Video cables need to be made with 75 ohm coax so the signals dont reflect when they hit the input on the TV.

    A composite video cable usually has a yellow RCA plug.

    A "component cable" is simply 3 identical length composite video cables in a bundle.

    The Red/White cables in a bundle are SOMETIMES made with 75 ohm coax, sometimes not.
