  1. I would say it's all personal preference in what you would like to shoot but we can break it down as such.

Compound- more power, attachment compatible, modern comfort

Recurve- more primitive, greater skill. super exciting.

these are just a few as you can see the choice is yours

  2. everybody i know uses a recurve and the person above is wrong......most recurves made now except custom recurves have a stabilizer hole and if it does not you can buy reels that you tape on....it is usually personal preference ......those who are hardcore compound users will use a compound same goes for traditional bow users and there are many recurves that shoot just as fast as a compound

I have been shooting recurves since I was a kid.

what it boils down to is use what you like the best one is no better than the other

  3. Neither.

If you must pursue the great fighting fish (THE CARP) do it with bait and hook. Practice Catch and Release. You will be able to have the thrill of capture over and over again I have.

  4. A Compound bow has an attachment that screws into the bow where you stabilizer would go.

On a recurve, you would have to drill out a hole and place a helicoil in so that you can s***w you attachment in. This also weaken the wood when you do that.

I have Bow-fished for 25 years, and I use my compound because it allows me to use a reel vices a hand spool, plus a compound just shoots faster.
