I broke several traces on my PCB at the IC leg so the trace is broken at the chip leg. The trace runs under the chip so I managed to remove the chip but now i have to repair the trace and remount the chip....

If i use a conductive pen to repair the broken trace will it melt to the chip like solder when i go to remount the chip to the PCB??

  1. No, I think the pen trace will be too thin to solder to. I would use very thin wire instead.

You could take one of the very thin strands from a multi-strand wire and use that to bridge across. Or, use some wire-wrapping wire.
