  1. Its helpful if it includes your name, address and a witness but not a legal requirement.

If you sign, you are affirming you agree to that which is written above your signature.  Its pretty much that simple.

  2. It's legal.

  3. ALIX, I have got news for you, the answeris yes it is legally since you & the person had signed the document it is legal.

  4. A contract is a written agreement between two parties. It must be agreed and signed by both parties to be legal.

  5. With one or two exceptions, a contract doesn't even have to be in writing for it to be legally binding.  I don't know of any contract that needs to be witnessed by a solicitor though signature of some legal documents (deeds in particular) do need to be witnessed, though not necessarily by a solicitor.

It is good practice to show the name of signatories adjacent to their signature but not a legal requirement.

You ask initially about a contract but then refer to 'licensors'.  You may be mixing ideas here but I'll assume that, like most people, you are trying to make sense of unfamiliar terminology.  If you feel someone is behaving improperly over some legal document, it is worth consulting a solicitor for advice (some will give a free short consultation) or, in the UK, talking to the Citizens' Advice Bureau.

    Good luck.

  6. Does Del Boy mean anything to you, Rodders?

  7. If you have signed it it is legal
