Technically it's a fruit (has seeds) but I guess people identify it's taste as being more vegetable like, so they are widely knows as vegetables.

That depends on if you are a botanist or a cook.

Technically it is a fruit, but because it is not sweet it is treated like a vegetable.

Most of the squash family are treated the same way. Pumpkins for example are thought of as vegetables, but watermelons and cantaloupe are thought of as fruits.

It is considered just a vegetable by many. Cucumbers are grat for many many things. It is a diuretic, it helps with puffiness around the eyes, and have gotten many through a lonesome night.
