yes, it is, although less of one than percocet.  it is a controlled substance.

It is...and a very old one....it contains a synthetic narcotic with analgesic properties called dextropropoxyphen napsilate 65 milligrams per capsule...it is quite addictive in chrionic pain and young people,,,it is a narcotic, because besides of the analgesic effect, it causes drowsiness (hence the subphyx "narcos", that means sleepiness or numbness)

No wonder it is a controlled substance.
