in december 1914.

i know dec. is a noun. but is 1914 as well?

  1. a noun is a person, place, thing or idea.

    December is a proper noun

    in reference to the above answer, I think the year itself (1914) is describing a point in time. as in an adjective

    "The one thousand nine hundred and fourteenth year AD"

    ex 1914 was a good year.  Subject=1914

  3. Yes, it is a noun. A person, place, or thing, I believe it is classified as a proper noun as it names a specific thing.
