Is a degree required to start your own business? if so, what kind?

i am looking into starting my own restaurant. but i dont know what are the requirements or necessary degrees to do it. please help!

No, I actually think direct experience in the specific industry and a knowledge about all the positions with-in the business is more important than a degree.

Hey that's awesome!! There are a lot of people out there that aren't as ambitious as you are. There's a lot of work and planning that needs to happen before you can start a restaurant but it definitely doesn't require a degree. I actually partnered up with a former restaurant owner on a new business opportunity over the internet, this guy Dean Kosage is so amazing that he retired at the age of 23!!!! No.  The lore you get by earning a degree might be useful, but many people (including one Wm. H Gates, who has been fairly successful) do fine without one.

no you dont need a degree at all but a bank would be more likely to give you a loan if you had a degree, you kno something that would make you at least credible and likely to return the money they loan you. it would also help you run the business.

No, you do not need any sort of degree to start a restaurant.  If you had a degree in small business or something, it might help you run your business, or it might inspire the bank people to give you a better rate on a business loan or something, but you don't need one.  You just need to ask your bank or chamber of commerce and health department what you need to know and do to get started.

no you dont, but having a degree does help you run a business. Theres business admin, business mangement, accounting, econ macro and micro. Understand them and you will do well
