  1. yes it is

  2. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.  If it is a square turned on it's point to look like a diamond, then yes.  If the four corners are not right angles, then no.

  3. It can be... but it could be a parallelogram also

  4. sometimes yes and sometimes no.  a square turned sideways is a diamond to where every angle is ninety degrees and the sum of the angles is 360 degrees. but a diamond which isn't a shape is called a rhombus. two sides are 45 while the other two are 135 degrees. this is a correct one. but you can switch the angles up. just remember that the corresponding angles have to be the same degrees.

  5. A diamond *can* just be a square turned onto one of its corners.

But there is a similar shape called a 'rhombus'.  It has all sides the same length (like a square) but it has been squished so that two angles are less than 90 degrees and two are greater.  That is more the traditional diamond shape - longer in one direction than the other.

  6. If you mean the geometric shape, it's another name for a lozenge, which is a thin rhombus.  The square is a special case of a rhombus (right angles).  If you mean the mineral, its crystal structure is isometric-hexoctahedral.
