  1. well 4 wheelers can crush you easier....

  2. 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, and yes even 3 wheelers are both safe and dangerous. if you ride them properly they can all be fun. i prefer 4 wheelers myself but that is not to say they are safer.

i would suggest that he get a 4x4 utility quad.

  3. any 2 wheeled vehicle will inherently be more dangerous than a 4 wheeled vehicle.

That's not to say you can't get hurt either way, but your risk is probably higher on the dirt bike.

  4. I have been ridding bikes since 1963 and raced them for a few years. I now own two street bikes, 2 dirt bikes and 1 4 wheeler. I used to own a 3 wheeler (very dangerous).

Naturally whatever you drive depends upon how you drive it AND how experienced you are with it. I'm assuming that your Father is inexperienced seeing as you are asking. Now a lot depends on what type of riding you plan on doing or where you are riding.

If you are riding upon groomed wide trails either one would be safe enough if you don't get stupid. If you are riding on narrow dirt trails I would suggest a dirt bike or one of those smaller wide tired mini-bikes. If you are planning on riding where there are a lot of sand hills or trails I would go with a 4 wheeler.

If all else fails you can always talk to a dealer in the area you wish to ride. They can evaluate your experience and know the trails and may be able to suggest what you may be comfortable with. Possibly they may have a couple of machines you can test drive a see what you may feel more comfortable with.

    And above all R I D E  S A F E L Y !!   Uncle Sam needs your tax money.

  5. Lol, its better for him to save his money and not get a mid life crisis-mobile they are sooooo un-appealing but if he must get a 4 wheeler they are safer.

  6. All are dangerous, If you guys are quad guys then get a quad. If he likes bikes then he should check into them. The side by sides are the safest Yamaha Rhino etc. At late 40s he is still young enought to ride well Go for it I like bikes best.

  7. is a dirt bike more dangerous then a 4 wheeler? I think so. It's harder to balance on and I personally have gotten in more crashes on the dirt bike(and never on the 4weeler) so, yes a dirt bike is more dangerous than a fourwheeler.

  8. it matters of if he can ride a dirt bike and how well if he can stick with a quad

  9. nnnnnnnnnooooooooo they can both hurt you but who care just have some fun

    RIDE ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. a f wheeler is more dangerous because it weights more. But dirt d**e jump  higher. So as long as he not jumping the bike will be safer.

  11. I prefer 4 wheelers because I have no balance. Dirtbikes, you need to balance. I rode my brother's dirtbike and crashed. Go figure! Anyway, yeah, dirtbikes are more dangerous.

  12. its more dangerous if ur 234 lbs

  13. of course it's dangerous

  14. they're both dangerous when you use them the wrong way...

i have 11 year old cousins who ride dirt bikes and they're okay. and 4 wheelers look safter, but if they tip over on you it's game over.

  15. 7yez

  16. I would think that a 4 wheeler would be better because it gives better balance  and having his age in mind i don't think he'd want to get hurt. Also his weight would be better supported by the ATV. Unless he'd want to do stunts, in that case i would recommend that you get  the dirt bike.

  17. 4 wheeler, watch the steep hills, big problems if it flips. och.
