Is a drink thermos and a soup thermos the same thing?

Like the thermos where theres a hole at the top for you to drink, and the thermos where they have this cup that's part of the lid.

Do they work the same?

Can I use a soup one for a drink or a drink one for soup?

Yep. Both work the same.  Although some companies do make separate drink and soup ones.

Usually a soup thermos has a wider opening.  You may use a soup thermos for a drink thermos, but you might spill unless you use a cup.  Don't use a drink thermos for soup unless it's something thin, like broth.

You can, of course, but the soup thermos has a larger opening, in case your soup is thick, or has chunks of veggies & meat, etc.

You can also use it for cold drinks. A drink thermos is primarily designed for cold drinks and is not insulated as a soup thermos. Good for cold drinks on a hot afternoon. In each case you can use the top has a cup for soups or drinks.
