Is a efc of 156 a good number?

my husband is going to college and on his fasfa results he got a efc of 156 is that good or not and what does it mean

  1. My efc is always 0.  I get a full pell grant and nothing else.  I've gotten two national scholarships, but NOTHING from my university.  It doesn't really matter what score you get, sometimes you will still get nothing.


  2. The lower the EFC the more money you qualify for, in terms of Loans or Pell Grants and even Work Study

    SO yes its pretty good, meaning you won't have to contribute a lot to paying the school.

    Edit- my EFC was 4720-ish, and i only qualified for Loans, but still everyone has a chance to get something. As long as you don't get a letter saying that you don't qualify well then you don't qualify. Depends on the college and how soon you turn in your financial aid, always remember the sooner you do it the more chance of getting funds. :)
