  1. Not really. Usually the enduro bikes will have a flywheel weight that slows down the hit of the motor, larger gas tanks to take you further, quieter exhausts so you can sneak through the woods easier, an 18" rear tire versus a moto bike 19" (more flat resistant), and are usually blessed with electric starters (and all the weight that comes with it). Ninebadthings is right in comparing enduro's and dual sports as they are related, except the dual sport bikes have to pass DOT regulations and are normally even heavier still, have tires that are extremely compromised on both dirt and street,and have lower compression on the engines.  


  2. I see an enduro and a dual sport as the same thing.  Given that, the enduro has alot of compromises that make it able to do both jobs.  A full on dirt bike is going to outdo an enduro on dirt.  It will have a suspension with more travel, it will have more aggressive and softer tires.  It will have a louder muffler and hotter tuning.
