  1. Yes! They have plenty of caffeine and sugar in it...and artificial additives.

    Limit yourself to 1 a month! They also leach calcium out of your bones...not good for growing bodies. Same with Coke.

    and if you drink to many of them you could end up in the hospital or even die.

  3. If used as inteneded they are not bad for you. Red Bull recomends usings only 1 to 2 in a day. Even healthy energy drinks recommend against having more than 2. Big cans can have 2 or 3 servings and people tend to have more than one of those a day.

    They stimulants in them are all good and even necessary for our bodies. They are sugars, caffeine, taurine, guarana, B vitamins, and ginseng. But many of these can have adverse afffects when we have too much.

    Sugar is necessary but it is high in calories and people tend to have much more of this even outside of energy drinks. So diet ones and healthy ones don't use it to cut down. Sugar also causes us to crash. This crash is intensified by caffeine because it dehydrates us. When dehydrated we become tired and lethargic. On top of that once we reach 300 mg of caffeine per day it starts to have bad health effects.

    People think tuarine and guarana are bad too. They say taurine is becuase it is in bile. True, it is there to digest fats and process fat soluable nutrients. It is also in the heart, white blood cells, skeletal muscles, and nervous system. Guarana has a high level of caffeine. This is the only reason why healthy energy drinks don't use it cause they want to keep caffeine levels down. But one of them, 5 Hour Energy, tweeks it themselves as a marketing ploy.

    Finally the ginseng and B vitamins are assuemed to be bad too. Ginseng in part because of the health scare a few years back. However, it was only the American ginseng that was contaminated. With B vinains people think too much is bad but they are water soluable so they are excreted when not needed.

    Since normal energy drinks have extra caffeine and sugar than sodas having more than 2 really racks up high levels of both. This is the thing that makes them bad. Some of the other ingredients can be bad in excessive amounts but the levels in energy drinks are not enough to have those concerns like there is with the sugar and caffeine.

  6. Yep,I still drink them once in a while though. I mean,shoot-everything's bad for you now a days. Just like soda,cheeseburgers,medecine,on and on.....

  10. moderation is the key. anything you abuse is harmful.

  11. They have lots of additives, too much caffeine and many contain around 16 tablespooons of sugar. They destroy the bones and wear out enamel. Too much of anything is bad.
