Is a fetal heart rate of 180 beats/min a good sign at 8 weeks?

Yes.  It's a little on the higher end of the normal heartbeat range, but I'd much rather it be on the higher end of normal than the lower end!  A slow heartbeat can be a bad sign.

Once you've seen/heard the baby's heartbeat the risk of miscarriage is less than 4%.

Mine was 173bpm at 10weeks! The doctor said it was great. normally its between 120-180! so don't worry!

that seems a bit high to me, but if your dr is not concerned you shouldnt be either--good luck to you and baby!!
