  1. well I had a 2000 v6 brand new awsome truck never gave any problems.  Ford truck will run for a long time if taken care of properly. I have seen older truck running with way more miles but If I were you I would talk down the price.

  2. For the truck itself not really that bad. If you do get that truck figure on having an engine redone for it and even then it wouldn't be a bad deal. Also I believe it would break down with the regular engine about 250,000 miles.

--Also good job going for the F-150 :)

  3. that's a TON of miles for that truck.  i know where one is right now with 53K less for 500 less.

as for that truck, #1 rated reliability pickup sold in the US (F-150 4x2 V-6)

  4. For an XL that is pretty high unless it's on a dealer's lot and most dealers won't sell cars with that many miles

Most are valued at $3000 private party right now and that's mainly due to the miles.

Depending upon how it's taken care of, is if it would be a good buy, unless you are mechanically inclined and want the truck a $50 investetment at a mechanic shop for a look would be best as these trucks did have some issues with vaccum leaks and ball joints but are great trucks. Usually however a truck with that many miles was usually used for work or was a commuter of very long miles... because it's easy to beautify a outside of the truck to hide other damage

  5. Get it inspected.

I'd be sure the intake manifold gaskets are in good shape, but other than that, the trucks are solid with the v6 in it.  Well, those IMGs would set off a P0171/0174 code anyway.

Check the balljoints, as they can be a weak point, but you'll notice that in the steering wheel if they are bad.

Good buy.  Talk the price down, though.

If my 2003 v6 F150 XL is still around in 80,000 miles to touch that one, I'm super happy then.  That' s why I got it.
