  1. manual, probly muncie rock crusher!!

    NICE!

  2. a four speed ? sounds like a manual.

  3. Could be either,but a 1973 would be a manual.

  4. In the case of a '73 Corvette it is a stick shift.  The number of speeds refers to the maximum number of different ratios the car's transmission shifts into while going forward. It can be automatic or manual.  In 1973 Chevrolet did not make an automatic with 4 different forward gear ratios (speeds) so it is definitely a manual or stick shift. I hope this helps.

  5. Its manual. Whenever someone refers to the amount of speeds in their car, or gears, theirs about a 95 percent chance they are talking about manual transmission. I'll be the first to say you should learn on something else first. I learned on a 1995 Firebird Formula with over 340whp, but that was really hard to drive and learn on.

  6. It will be a manule shift. You will have to learn to drive it. Hopefully your Grandpa meant "someday" not right away, as this is a great car for experienced drivers not good for beginners.

  7. auto no doubt about it and sticks have 5 gears anyways almost all stingrays have autos on em and what the h***s a 14 yo doing driving a car

  8. Four speeds come in both manual and automatic.  The Stingray is probably an automatic, though.  Every Stingray I have ever seen has been.  If it were manual, it would be a five speed.

  9. You can't legally drive yet anyway, so you have time to learn

On a 73 Corvette, the automatic was a 3 speed, the 4 speed is a stick (which is MUCH better, by the way). There was no Corvette with a 5 speed until the 80's.

If you don't want it, tell your grandpa I'm available for adoption and I'd like that car.

On a more serious note though - check the insurance prices, that car will cost a fortune to insure with a teenage driver.

  10. I tell you what, send me the Vet and I will tell you.

Just kidding!  Lucky you.  Its a stick.

Enjoy the ride when you get your license.
