  1. get Angus Young Signature SG http://www.music123.com/Gibson-Angus-You...   alot of distortion (sp?)

  2. yes it is but no matter what guitar you get you should make sure you get a proccessor or a couple effects pedals but i would suggest getting a digitech processor they are cheap and sound great!! you can get them from 20- 40 bucks and have so many settings to make your guitar soun realy good!

  3. yes, but i suggest the ESP viper 400. with the emg active pickups...   and it has a better price also, you can get one at musicians friend on line

  4. One of the best choices actually. SG has an ideal sound for heavy riffing. Just listen to some early Priest or Sabbath...they kicked ***. Plus, it's a very versatile guitar - it can be used even for jazz and blues - great choice.

Also, it kinda seems to me (it may be just a coincidence) that people who play an SG are quickly forced to develop a strong wide vibrato - I've noticed it by Tony Iommi, Angus Young, Glenn Tipton and...me:) It might be caused by the size and shape of the neck.

  5. The sg is a pretty sweet guitar.  I could imagine it for a wide variety of sounds.  A fellow guitarist in my band has an sg and we play music like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.  I have also seen some blues players use that.  The main thing you need to know when getting a guitar is to make sure that you like the looks, and the sound.  An effect could make any guitar sound like heavy metal.

  6. Angus  Young has been kicking *** with one for years.

  7. kinda but sg's r better for classic rock, try  a flying v those sre pretty heavy hetal, i personaly hav an sg tho

  8. yes

  9. yes. you should go to your store and say your looking for an sg that is best for metal. don't buy a classic if you want it like now time metal. but if you want ac/dc and black sabbath sound classic is good. so like i said before just ask them which one is best for metal. and you have to get an effect pedal or if you have an amp that has effects in it thats ok but they have to be metal effects. i would recommend the electro harmonix metal muff with top boost. i have it and its great for metal plus u can move k***s around to sound more like black sabbath and ac/dc.

    i hope i helped
