Is a golden retriever right for me?

Question

im a 13 year old boy wnting a best friend and im wondering if a golden retriever is right for me i would like it to not need maximum exercise and i am willing to groom it every day and have a medium sized yard. is the golden retriever right for me if not what breed is

Well a golden retriever would be great for a companion! Thats for sure! But, they do need a pretty good amount of exercise. They are very sweet and loyal, and definitely trainable though. It just the exercise. So...I'd probably say it wasnt, unless you could play with it, and give it a pretty decent amount of exercise everyday! :) But other then that, yeah! Go for it!

yes. I have had a golden for 11 years now and she is my best friend. they need some exercise but will be happy as long as it is with their master. a golden is loyal to anybody in the family but always picks a very special person to be her master. mine always sites right next to me no mad where I am, always listens to me, and never barks. they are the perfect dog! hope this helps

golden is right for almost anyone. I had one for 14 years.  as they get older there exersizing needs go down pretty much atleast 1/2 mile every day. You sound like the perfect kid for a golden , and a golden would say the same ----good luck
