  1. Yes it is a pass, to pass you have to get grades A-E.

  2. yes a D is a pass

  3. Yes, it is a pass.  On the Statement it will break down the units he sat for AS Greek. and you can work out from there if he got a high D or a Low D and if he would like he could resit some of the units he got lower grades in.

For example, in my spanish as oral exam I got 74UMS our of a possible 105 - which means I only just got a B (a B for that unit is 74)

For the writing unit I got 24UMS out of a possible 90 which is a U... overall I got a D so I'm hoping to resit the units which brought my overall grade down.

    hope that makes sense

  4. Yes a D grade is a pass actually anything above a U is a pass and if i remember correctly its about 50% for a D. but of course the grades can change depending on what everyone else got. if everyone did badly the grade bounderies would be doppend and vise versa.

    %         Grade

    80          A

    70          B

    60          C

    50          D

    40          E

    <40        U

  5. Not sure....but i believe that depends on other ppl

  6. D is a pass,

Got my results today, i recieved a D, and it only takes on resit for me to get it up to a C.

U is a fail, which i also got. whoops

  7. The Grades A, B, C, D, E are passing grades.

    if you get:

    40-49% you get an E

    50- 59% you get a D

    60-69% you get a C

    70-79% you get a B

    and 80-100% is a A

These grade boundaries will change depending on how well everyone else who sat the exam did - so its hard to say exactly what percentage he actually received.

However if he did alright on certain papers and not so well on other - he can resit the one he didn't do that well on. I resat one of my Histroy AS papers in the Spring of my A2 year - and pulled the grad on that paper from a U to an A - improving my overall grade from a D - B. If he wants to improve his grade - he can resit the papers he didn't do to well on - and keep the grades for the papers he did do well in.

So yes, in conclusion, you're son passed his Greek AS-Level.

  8. Grade D is 50%

so yes he just barely passed

    but he passed

  9. Yes, a pass at AS level is E and above

    E - 40%

    D - 50%

    C - 60%

    B - 70%

    A - 80%

Your son can apply to re-sit the exam in the second year of the course to improve his grade. He needs to be aware that Second year Advanced Level is a lot harder than AS. You experience the jump from GCSE > AS level again but from AS > A2. Most students tend to drop a grade in the second year, but with a bit of hard work there's always room for improvement.

  10. Unfortunately it isn't a pass

at least i don't think it is

    I would have thought  A, B, C Pass

  11. a D is a pass

  12. It is a pass yes, although institutions tend to categorise into two sections: A-C pass and D-F pass. Am unsure what percentage this it though.

  13. Grade D is a pass. but im sorry to say tis not a particulary good pass. They work the same GCSE's.

A-E is pass, but you have to achieve A -C grades to be able to progress to the next levels.

If you got a D it would suggest that you struggled alot with teh syllabus but managed to scrape through.

  14. Yes A - E

  15. Yes anything above a  U grade is a pass i.e E and above.

There is no point in everyone putting boundaries down to  explain percentages because they can vary from 15% either way depending on the percentage spread of marks

  16. A d is 60%.
