  1. They both are equally important.

Can't have one without the other.

If you're playing in a tribal drum circle... guitar is useless.

If you're playing in a blue grass band... drums are useless.

I'm a drummer, but the world doesn't revolve around drum solo's. But the world doesn't revolve around guitar solos. They are equal.

  2. Depends on the songs being performed.  Most of the time, they are both so crucial, you cant put one over the other.

  3. guitar as it can carry the cords and or melody and depends on how it is played can also carry the beat.

  4. The only sane answer on here is that by "none" in that neither are more important.  The ONLY time one could place more importance on a single instrument is if the piece being performed was written to showcase that instrument. Even then, if the piece was written to include two instruments, then they are of equal importance.

Kabum (Give "none" a BEST ANSWER!)

  5. drums, cause it keeps everyone in beat

  6. WHICH EVERONE COULD GET SMASED IN BITS AND SHOVED THREW THE AMP TO GET HARDCORE FEEDBACK!

  7. Any seasoned musician will tell you a great drummer is more important to a band than any other instrument. Everything falls apart without a great rhythm section.

  8. Depends on the style of music being played. If its indy acoustic , the obviously guitar, but most commonly, it's always the drums. The Drums hold the song together, and deffinatley have the biggest sound impact at most music events.

Remeber, a slight - moderate mistake on the guitar could be unoticeable, but a  moderate mistake on the drums  is very distinct.

  9. Drums - they keep the beat

  10. Nobody can ever answer that question. It's far too vague. In what setting are you talking about? If your watching the Blue Man Group then I'd have to say the drums, but if your watching Steve Vai, then I'd say guitar.

I think what your trying to ask however is whether we think guitar or drums are more important in a rock band setting. In which case, I don't think you can choose either, they both play their part.

  11. Drums all the way without the drums everything would totally fall apart, the drummer has a really hard job if he/she messes up the whole thing will fall apart! Bass also depends on drums as well, but guitarist and singers/vocalist need drums to keep rhythm/beat and, bass also helps too. Well, anyway I hope I helped and have a great day! -Xoxo Someone...
