Is a heat pump worth it ? I'm living in Newfoundland Canada?

it below 10 celius about 4 months of the year avg. so im building a new house 3400 sq feet looking into heat pumps but is the cost of extra $ 10,000 bucks worth it ?? if anyone can help someone from colder area of the country with heat pump installed

  1. 1. A heatpump pulls heat from the exterior air and brings it into the house and Newfoundland does not have a lot of heat stored in the air.

    2. The heatpump will augment the heating side with electrical heat strips which are the most costly way to heat air.

    3. The use of a 90% Natural Gas furance or furnaces will be the best and most cost efishent way heat your new home.

    4. Put the money into extra insulation and insulation does wearout like mechanical items do.
