Is a kawasaki ninja 250r right for me?

I was thinking about getting a ninja 250r for my first bike. i am 5 foot 8 and only 140 pounds... my other option for a bike is a ninja 500r. so which one is right for me?

  1. When I was 20 I bought my first bike, a KZ550 Kawasaki.  I was shorter and weighed less than you and it was a great bike for me.  In fact, if they'd redo the Ninja 500 like they did the 250 last year, I'd be in the market for another one.

    Go for the 500.  Bigger means better sometimes - and you'll be able to go a bit faster but still get great mileage out of it.


  2. The 250 Ninja is a perfect bike as long as you limit it to side roads, ( not highways or freeways) and for short commutes of 20 miles or less.

    The 250 is NOT a good bike to ride for long periods of time on highways at 70 mph+, and its not a good bike to ride on a long road trip, its a fuel saving, short trip commuter bike.

    yes, the 250 Ninja has a top speed of 100 mph, but its a slow acceleration rate, it might take you over a mile to reach that speed, you need quick acceleration on highways, the 250 doesn't have quick acceleration.

    The 500 Ninja has the quick acceleration
