Is a kenetic power cell a replacment of the battery in the engine bay?

For example would I be able to run a optima yellow top in the engine bay and a kentica power cell in the trunk near the amps? I have an Audi TT 1.8L with a 120 amp alternator.

  1. yes you can, but for peak performance, its better to have both batteries been kinetik due to the difference in ratings between an optima and kinetik, and because of the materials used to hold the charge.

    check out their site which tells you what battery(s) ull need for your setup according to rms watts.

    now depending on the amount of watts been used, you might want to do the Big3 wire upgrade.

    if the 120 amp alt is rated @ idle RPM, then it might not need to upgrade the alt to a H.O.

    if the 2nd battery needed is big, then you might want to upgrade the alt since the current pull will be alot and the alt will have to power the amp and charge 2 batteries instead of just 1... so the stock alt will fail.
