Is a landlord required to tell you if someone has died in a house or apartment before you rent it?

I live in CA and have an apartment. I know some of them people have passed away but landlady said not to tell anyone interrested in renting the apartments.

  1. There is many places that get's rented and people has probley died in them and landlords actually doesn't say if they actually don't know. There is also people who say's things to just get somebody to move out in trying to get revenge on the landlord for whatever reason. I have never heard of any landlord having to or not tell the renter if such happened or not. They should but some doesn't. You can check the laws in your area about what the quateria is in landlords renting properties with finding out if they are to or not.


  2. Why should it matter? Do you think the fact someone died in a particular house or apartment it should be demolished? What about the land it sits on?
