Is a laptop useful for high school

im going into grade 9 and i was wondering if i need a laptop

No i thought i would but i winded up not having to no one uses them.

it's not something you probably need, because your school's library would probably have computers for use. but it can be handy.

You don't need one but I found it extremely helpful. From 9th- the starting of tenth I didn't use one but when I started, it was my lifeline for my studies. I had all my notes and information there. plus it helps when you can just work on your homework in your room alone on the same computer that holds all of your notes. Just be sure that if you do you save all your information on a backup; in case of a sudden crash. (this happened to me right before finals, luckily i was able to get my information back but it still was one of the most stressful experiences i have had).

It's useful for high school if your printer breaks or if you're going to have a lot of spare time during a free period with nothing to do. It's also handy to take to the public library and just have everything on one machine without  flash drives or external hard drives.

It's great! Mine helped me tons! I had so many reports to write and they all had to be typed, plus it's great for doing research, and the best part is that it's mobile so you can bring it to school and take notes. I do a lot of work, so i carry it from room to room. At the beginning of the school year WalMart has a huge sale on laptops, mine only cost $360 and it's great quality. I dont know when the sale is happening but it should be soon.

Unless you plan to take it to class to take notes, it won't be any more useful than a desktop.
