  1. Yes. Your dad is a very smart man. I applaud him for paying in cash for something and not use a credit card. Credit cards are EVIL. If you don't know how to use credit cards, your finances will do nothing but continue paying off the debts you accumulated and they charge too much interest on the balance you owe them. So, congratulations to your father.

  2. Your dad isn't being merely smart, but BRILLIANT.  As soon as you borrow money (a credit card is a loan, just without all the paperwork), you are a slave.  Avoid them.

  3. Yes, that's a good idea. Credit cards can easily get out of control.

  4. Credit cards are dangerous, and unless you are 100% positive that you can use it without abuse, and pay it off completely every single month without fail, then leave it alone and do as your father is doing. Your credit rating will still be good without one, and it really gives you a sense of accomplishment to know that something you posess is something that is actually YOURS, without a credit company still holding part of it ransom.

  5. yes , Credit cards are evil, unless you can guarantee that you will be able to pay the bill every month.  If you do pay the bill every month on time then your credit score will be really good, but if you forget then it will go down and a low credit makes it hard to do a lot of things...get loans, buy cars.....USE A DEBIT CARD

  6. In a word Yes!

Credit is okay if you can afford to clear it on a monthly basis if not it becomes a downward spiral where eventually you cannot afford to get out of debt.

    Em

  7. credit card means instand debt card

  8. yeah, its smart because if you know that you won't be able to pay off a credit card each month then money or debit is the best way. although you will need credit to buy  a house or rent an apartment, so using a credit card once or twice a month of small things would be the best way to build credit, just don't go overboard if you know you won't have the money to pay it completely off each month.

credit cards=easiest way to go into debt

  9. That is definitely the way to live. It's the smart thing to do.

Credit cards are the financial worlds cigarette.

Building your credit score is the biggest joke of the 21st century.

  10. Yes, your dad is smart.  Credit cards are great to carry in case of an emergency.  However, it is best to never use them.

  11. YES . UNLESS YOUR GOOD WITH THAT STUFF ,.

  12. its sort of 50-50 bcause if u r a person of kind who travels a lot and need huge amount of money to carry then its necassary or else it isnt

  13. Definitely, would you rather enjoy your life, or worry about paying back with interest rates and then you'll never get it back in time, so you just have to keep paying your credit. Thats why i dont use credit much

  14. Credit cards are a great tool if used properly.  I lived cash-only for about ten years, and life is a lot easier with credit cards- I can make plane reservations, book hotel rooms, and Internet shop with much less hassle.

I have two cards: one for daily stuff like groceries and one for emergency expenses.

I always pay off the entire balance of the daily stuff card every month.  I know that I am going to do this with each purchase and I don't make major purchases on that card unless I know for sure that the money is in the bank account.

If I have a big necessary expense (car repairs, new washer, etc) I put that on the other card that I won't be putting daily stuff on, so the balance doesn't build each month.  I decide what my payment is, and don't go by the minimum payment - that's just a trap the card company uses to get more money from you.

If I only had one card, I'd be likely to say: "I'll buy something big and make the payments for six months," without realizing that I will make more purchases in the coming months and raise my balance.

  15. if your amish and if you pay on credit card the credit card company gets 2-3% on the sale from the store but on gas like 6-7% so if there wasnt credit cards everything would be a bit cheaper and causes a lot of debt i suggest debit card
