Question:

Is a lightbox truly better?

I've been working on basic anime proportions and my friend suggested that I should buy a lightbox so my proportions don't get messed up when I blend them with my construction lines.

Is it really worth the money to get a lightbox?

  1. Light boxes make frame by frame comparisions SO much easier.  And, anything to make the job easier is welcome, as far as my opinion goes.

A good strong light box will also allow several frames of a sequence to be seen at the same time.  This helps assure a smooth andimated sequence.

Is it worth the money?   Question back at you:  "Is it worth your time to produce good quality work?"

  2. i don't really understand what you are saying, but lightboxes are pretty useful if you do any significant amount of drawing.

But DON'T buy a new lightbox unless you are rich. As you can easily make one yourself and for way less money

heres a couple of instructions on making lightboxes..

  3. you can also just flip the paper and check to see if the mirrored image looks off. I guess a lightbox would help but I don't understand how you would get 'messed up'
