  1. Yes I am, and It's been two and a half years.

It is definitely sustainable, for a few reasons:

    1) A "Raw Foodist" is generally defined as a person who consumes 75% or more of their food in a raw form.  The remaining 25% provides a great deal of wiggle room.  For instance, I still drink herbal teas, and consume the occasional veggie burger.

    2) The reasons for going raw are all about health.  Since there isn't an ethical component, (to one who is already vegan, of course)  there is no guilt involved if one should fall off the wagon.

    3) The most important reason it's sustainable is how good you feel.  People who go raw for any length of time, then slip back into eating cooked foods will notice the difference in their digestion, energy, mood, skin, eyesight etc. and they generally want the raw feeling back.

  2. Sure.

Apparently, according to a friend of mine, one of these families was doing great, but after a couple years they were having problems... but they figured out the problem and are fine now -- apparently they wrote a book about their experience.
