Yes. But the technology for predicting earthquakes is insufficient for predcting when. But as long as the Pacific Plate slides against the North American Plate, many of the faults along that boundary will produce major earthquakes.

I assume by major quake you mean 'The Big One'?  

It will happen.  That's one thing seismologists agree on.  The when... well, only Mother Earth knows, and she's not talking.

What will happen?  The rumors of California ripping apart are most likely true.  Understand however, that this will only occur with a tremendous shock, such as a 9.0+

Smaller quakes will continue to hit California frequently as well.  4s, 5s, and 6s, even 7s and 8s should be expected.
