  1. Hey,

Im 15 and i've had rabbits since i was 5 and at the moment i have 9 rabbits.

I would get a male dwarf rabbit because females can go feral if on there own and not desexed. I have had feral rabbits before and it's not nice being growled at, scratched or bitten and you would not be able to pat or hold the rabbit without being harmed.

  2. i dont think it matters. i have had both. and they didnt seem different in any way.  idk if where they're from or what their genes are makes a bigger difference.

  3. I'd deffiantely get a male. Like the others said when does become sexually mature they can have some major mood swings. I breed and show mini rex and I hate to say it but I like my boys alot more than the girls lol.

However if you want a doe, spaying her should fix most hormone based aggression problems.

Good luck with your future new bunny :D

  4. my dwarf is a girl and she is great not to human friendly but loves my cat. Just know that when getting a boy anything they will spray pee everywhere in less u get them fixed. getting them fixed can be dangerous and cost about 150 bucks. also male pee has a stronger smell than a females.

  5. I have never had a female dwarf rabbit, but my male dwarf is a sweetie. If you have ever had a regular rabbit, just know that the dwarfs are not quite as friendly. They can be a little more aloof. My rabbit doesn't jump in my lap or anything. But he does love it when I pet him, and he is really adorable. I'm sure you will be fine with either gender.

  6. I think that if you like male cats more than female cats that you may like male rabbits better.

Personally, I'd be more concerned with what breed of dwarf rabbit you get and not so much the gender.  Just like the different dog breeds vary in physical characteristics, care requirements, and temperaments so do the 47 rabbit breeds recognized by the ARBA (the AKC of rabbits).

I recommend Holland Lop, American Fuzzy Lop, Jersey Wooly, Polish, or Mini Rex.  The others (Netherland, Britania Petite, Dwarf Hotot, Mini Satin) can be the devil.

The HL and AFL are more like puppy dogs that will  beg for you attention.  The Wooly isn't as animated but will sit in your lap forever.

  7. Dwarf rabbits are known for having bad temperments.  Females will be a little more aggresive than males sometimes, so I guess you could say a male is better.
