  1. It's not hard for me or many people but you have to try it because some people just can't get it down.  Don't find out it's too much after you buy a car you are stuck with.  Besides it won't be long till the day when manuals are the thing of the past.  I mean chopstick aren't hard either but I don't feel the need to force my self to use them when I could just use a fork.

  2. There is a bit of a steep learning curve, but afterward, it's like riding a bike--you never forget.

  3. if my stereotypical "blonde" daughter can do it ...anyone can

  4. I taught myself stick and i love it. You know you are in tune when you dont even have to think about shifting you just do it. Thats how you know you have conquered stick.

  5. Just a few years ago most people learned to drive in a stick shift! Many people still prefer a stick because after mastering it you have a higher sense of involvement while driving, you are more in tune to what the car is doing and can better control it. This often gives a "sporty" feel to cars that might feel dull or underpowered with an automatic. Besides, cars with manual transmissions generally get better gas mileage.

  6. its not hard at all, and once you learn, youll never go back to automatic, i promise.

  7. It's not hard, but actually kind of fun.  They're right, you won't want to go back if you try it.  The only catch, it's not so easy to drive and talk on the cell phone or reach back to a child when driving a stick.

  8. Nothing better, My daughters cried and  cried about learning on my pickup. But now they both drive standards.

  9. its not hard at all, once you get use to the gas and where the clutch takes hold at. once you get use to a manuel, its not any harder to drive then automatic. i know a stick is more fun.
