I'm only 16, and I have a job that offers health care benefits. My mother is a self-employer, therefore there are no benefits, am I eligible for the benefits my job offers even though I am a minor?

Will they be available for JUST me?

  1. Your AGE Doesn't matter.  Are you working enough HOURS to qualify for eligibility?  That's what counts.

Benefits should be available to ALL employees, in your class.  But if you're asking, can you add your mother?  The answer is no.

  2.     Yes, you are eligible as long as you pay the premiums.  And you can't put your mom on your policy.
