Is a moss ball plant a good plant

can i put one with one goldfish in a 5 gal I'm going to get 20gal next week so don't tell me that i need a bigger tank plz!

  1. Yeah, that's fine.  It's a slow growing plant, pretty much undemanding.  I have 2 in one of my tanks.  Just need to rinse it out in a bucket of used tank water every so often to get the debris off it, give it a light squeeze as well, and be sure to adjust the position of it every so often also so it stays rounded.

    Also, just be sure you're getting a "real" moss ball.  I've read on some sites, that some stores will take a pieces of styrofoam and wrap some java moss around it, and call it a moss ball....I've was wondering why the ones at Petco looked so weird, and not at all like a true moss ball.  Now I know why lol.....

    They're also hard to find now, I think I read somewhere they're not letting them be exported out of Japan(?) anymore.  But, there is a guy on ebay(where I bought mine) that has some for sale every now and then.
