Is a motorcycle harder to drive than a car?

i'm gettin my driver's liscense soon and i was thinking about gettin my motorcycle liscense also. in NH, i dont have to take any classes to get my motorcycle liscense and if i wanted to take a class, i'd have to take it next april. i want a motorcycle because they're better for the environment, even though they're more dangerous, and they cost less than a car.

then again, i live in nh so i wouldn't be able to use it in the winter, but i can use my mom's car. i probably won't get a motorcycle (if i got one) until next april because i can't get it registered til then, but is it even worth getting one?

  1. How are they better for the environment? They don't fall under the same emissions regs as cars do. And if you've never driven one, you don't really need one...especially just getting your license. Get a car.

  2. motorcycles are definetly dangerous and require skill to ride.  Yes it is more dangerous, you have to be much more careful and wear a helmet and all that good stuff.  If you want somthing small and dont want a motorcycle get a smart car. those are sweet.   So the answer to your question would be yes, a motorcycle is harder to drive than a car

  3. Do you like being wet, dirty, cold, hot, dusty, eating squashed bugs? Remember the last group of distance riders you saw beside the road. You will look and smell just like them!  Fair weather riding is all right but when you simply have to get some where, or worse, get home, up comes a fierce two hour rain and guess what - you're stuck under an awning waiting for the sun.

Harder, no. But motorcycles are a challenge and it isn't for every one.

  4. I've been riding now for about a year and I've bought a Triumph Adventurer (883cc) to learn how to ride. It's pretty simple, if you can ride a bike and drive a manual transmission automobile, you can ride a motorcycle. If you know how to operate a stick, you can just about drive anything....ANYTHING! The gears are located on the left foot and the rear brake is on the right. Just like an automobile, the brake on the right foot and the clutch on the left. The throttle is on the right hand as well as the front brakes. The left is for the clutch. Its real simple and once you've learned how to ride, you'd kick yourself in the butt because it's easy. I've sold the Triumph now and bought an 08 Victory Vegas Low....simply awesome!

  5. its different then a car, but more rewarding.

It will save you gas, and if ridden enough will pay forits-self in what you save in gas alone (Used bike)

The bad is, weather and a mistake can kill you.

  6. The scenery in NH, alone, makes owning a motorcycle worthwhile.
