    Its a possibility but I dont think there is a right or wrong answer to this.


  2. Mountain Lions have an instinct in them that they will attack anything that is moving fast.

    So, if the dog is running full speed, then yes chances are the dog is going to bring more attention to you.

    Now, if the dog is just there and calm, no the will not.


  3. Persons in the wild are most likely to be stalked by a big cat if they are alone. A dog may very well smell a cat in the area and give you an alarm in advance. A minimum protection against mountain lions would be a .357 magnum loaded with 180 or 200 grain Cor Bon or Federal Hunting rounds.
