  1. If you are coming from the states then Passport mandatory for flight, however if you are traveling by cruise, no passport required.

Passports are required if you FLY to Mexico.  This has been the law since Jan. 2007.  If you travel by LAND or SEA, you need a photo I.D. and proof of citizenship...EITHER a passport OR a birth certificate.  See site below and read carefully for the current info.  There is a GREAT deal of misinformation given on this subject, so best to read for yourself.  See 2nd site for all passport appliation info , if you need that.

  7. i went to mexico last month and all they asked for is your california id and they ask me a couple of questions like hows the president of the usa and where you were born. questions like that.
