Is a polyester shirt warm?

i bought a 100% polyester long sleeve shirt for a backpacking trip i'm taking later this summer. i needed something quick drying but it's also essential that it keeps me warm in the mornings or at night. if i hold it to a window i can see the light come through it. will it keep me warm?
