Is a pool party a good idea for a birthday?

All depends on when the birthday is and who it is for. We do a pool party for my daughter every year and her birthday is in december. She absolutly loves it.

Check your liabiilty insurance first.  That's an awful lot of exposure if you're inviting children - or even teens.  If you do have a pool party, hire a lifeguard to reduce your exposure in case of accident - and to reduce the chance of an accident.

There absolutely must be adequate supervision:  a large ratio of adult swimmers to children, etc.  You cannot be too safe around water.

Depending on how old the kids are...remember not everyone can swim and do you want that responsibility if the kids aren't old enough to swim safely...although kids normally have a lot of fun at a pool party

It depends on the age group, the size of the pool, the amount of people, and all of that.

I mean you wouldn't want 30 something 12 year olds in a pool thats two foot tall and 15 feet around, would you?

depends who is the birthday for?  how many people? what pool?  how big is the pool?

Edit:  if it is for a child remember you will need sufficient adult supervision....kids can get crazy (especially boys!) if it for teenagers...for sure a great idea...if it for old people probably not...

if there are a lot of people it might be too crowded and the pool will get kind of gross
