My boyfriend and I recently got into a heated discussion about whether or not my education major is anything compared to a med or law student. I am a preservice educator who is going to actively pursue graduate school and I feel that teachers, doctors, and lawyers have a lot in common when it comes to the workload. Basically, I am tired of hearing that education majors have it easy compared to others. The reality is that there is so much that goes into being a teacher nowadays especially since federal and state laws are requiring a lot more from both teachers and students. It all goes back to the teacher though. What do you think?

  1. i think should your boyfriend agree with you

  2. I think your boyfriend should try to respect your work and your passion more than he is showing now.  I truly believe there is no more nobler profession than teaching tomorrow's adults because they are the future! Our future depends on them! Preservice teaching is a lot of work and is very, very draining--but remember that you don't need anyone's approval to value the work that you do and plan to do....it is invaluable!
