  1. According to the article below the answer is NO.  I use this website frequently and they always have reliable information.  Take a look, you'll see that they definitely know their stuff.

    Good luck!

  2. OK I went to the other person who answered quoted website...what that person left out is the fact that some devices are capable of faster speeds than some lower end hdmi cables are capable of.  a high end plasma TV might be capable of 480hz but if the hdmi cable you are using is only capable of 60hz then your TV isn't being used to its full potential.   monster cable has an hdmi cable that they call a cable for life...if technology ever surpasses this cable they will give you the upgrade for free.

  3. Your not going to notice any difference between different brands or "qualities" of HDMI cables.

HDMI is digital.  It either works or it doesn't, if it works, your going to get 100% of the quality, image, audio, everything.  If it doesn't work, your either not going to get anything, or you might get really bad blocking of the image and stuff like that.

To summarize, If it works, it won't get better.

  4. There is a good explanation at in this forum

So no, the expensive ones are not better. I bought one from this site at a great price and it was worked well for me so far.

  5. dont believe the big hype of the name brand cables, the off brands are made with the exact same materials that the name brands are and in fact or more reliable, when you purchase the name brand thats all you are doing is purchasing the "name"
