Question:

Is a rainbow always there and we just can't see it? also, what are rainbows made of?

  1. i don't know that quetion is sort of like "if a tree falls an no one's around to hear it does it make a sound" sorta question....their not really made of anything just water droplets in the air and sunlight


  2. Rainbows are not always there. Rainbows are caused by it raining when it is sunshining. When light goes through water, it spreads out into 7 colors. ROY G BIV.  Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.  That is what causes the rainbow. You can have a similar event if you go outside in broad daylight and get someone to spray a water hose in the yard. You get on the side and look through the water, and you will see a rainbow.

  3. Rainbows happen when sun shines on rain from behind.  If you are up in the air, like in a plane, the bow is actually a full ring.  It is always there when the sun shines on rain but it depends on your position, if you can see it.  It comes from the way light from the sun is refracted by the rain drops.
