Would using a syringe to inject an enzyme into the blood stream be an effective method to distribute said enzyme throughout the body?

  1. Well, if said enzyme is normally found in blood and that's where it performs it's function, then fine. But if cells must take up the enzyme in order for it to localize to it's normal location then this method will not work. Proteins are macro molecules that would at the very least require specific recognition by a membrane bound receptor and active transport into the cell.
