Question:

Is a regular antenna on a car compatible with a cb radio antenna.

eg, could i use a car antenna to extende my own reach of a tiny cb radio antenna? or would it not work at all.

The antenna for your car radio is a receiving antenna only, and will not work well (if at all) with your cb radio.  In fact, you could damage your cb radio by transmitting without an antenna connected, or with the wrong kind of antenna connected.  However, you can buy adapters that allow you to connect your cb to the car antenna along with the car radio, through a special little box that fits under your dash.  It's about 1 1/2" square, and I bought my last one on ebay for about $20.  It works almost as well as a separate cb antenna, good enough for me, and I don't have to drill any holes in my car, or have a wire running out the door to a magnet-mount on the roof.

  3. this same question was just resolved.... and i too said to check on ebay or the am/fm/cb coupler.
